White Tulip 2008 is a unique blend of two white varieties, different by nature: aromatic Gewurztraminer with fresh Sauvignon Blanc.
The Gewurztraminer grapes were hand picked at Kfar Yuval vineyard near Metula (350 m alt.), and the Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the Kerem Ben Zimra old vines (750 m alt.). The grapes from both vineyards were handpicked and transported in chilled atmosphere.
When the grapes arrived at the winery they where immediately crushed and chilled, and then put into the press, where only the free run was produced and moved into tanks- each variety to a separate tank.
The must was fermented in low temperature with yeast that specializes in producing aromatic white wines, for about 40 days.
After the clarification of the wine, the final blend was determined: 60% Gewurztraminer and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. White Tulip 2008 is a dry white wine with light straw color and fruity aromas such as guava, grapefruit and litchi, alongside fresh greenness and good acidity. The unique style of this wine never stops surprising, and the wine can accompany a wide range of dishes such as fresh fish Ceviche, spicy Asian dish, or even well seasoned meat from the Grill.
